2007 Regional School on

Marriage Migration in Asia:

A Platform for Research and Action



 

ARENA organized the 2007 Regional School on Marriage Migration in Asia: A Platform for Research and Action, which took place from November 10-13, 2007 in Pagsanjan, the Philippines. The event was presented in collaboration with the Korea Migrant Women Human Rights Center, Isis International-Manila, and Kanlungan Center Foundation Inc. At the regional school, about 35 NGO activists, concerned researchers, and marriage migrants from 6 different countries, such as the Philippines, Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan participated in and shared their thoughts on the current situation of each country. In addition, they explored diverse issues like diaspora, human (in)security, and citizenship related to marriage migration.
