Mohiuddin Ahmad is an economist by training, a researcher by profession, a poet by
passion and an occasional columnist. He was a student activist in the late
sixties and early seventies and directly participated in the armed resistance
movement against the Pakistani occupation army in 1971
He is a founder member (in 1980) and currently Chairperson (since 1996) of Community Development Library (CDL), a national NGO involved in documentation, information communication, research and policy advocacy
He is a founding member of the South Asian Alliance
for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE) and currently Chair of the Jubilee South
Asia-Pacific (Asia-Pacific Movement on Debt & Development). He has so far
attended four UN Summits as a civil society representative.
He has been in the field of development since 1977. He
is currently involved with Water Resources Planning Organization of Bangladesh
as a consultant.
He has
