President of the Rural Reconstruction Nepal and of the NGO Federation of Nepal, the largest NGO umbrella group of Nepali NGOs, Arjun is currently involved in doing research on issues related to agrarian relations and rural social movements and is busy conducting a study on rural social conflicts and the peace-building process in Nepal. He completed his doctoral degree at the School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia and is very active in national and international networking, lobbying and advocacy of the NGO movements.

He is a member of various professional societies like the International Association for the Study of Common Property, the Nepal Agricultural Association, Asian Cultural Forum on Development, South Asia People's Commission on River, Water and Environment, Nepalese NGO's Initiative for World Summit on Social Development, the Arun Concern Group, PP21 and ARENA.

He has participated in non-degree trainings, seminars and conferences on issues such as debt and development, food security, social development, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and PP21 among others.

His most recent published works include The People's War in Nepal: Left Perspective (ed), 2003, The People's War in Historical Context, 2003, A Radical Reform Agenda for Conflict Resolution in Nepal (ed) 2003 and Movement from Below: Land Rights Movements in Nepal, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, Volume 3, Number 2, 2002, pp. 201-217.

Arjun is a member of the ARENA Executive Board 2003 - 2006.
