AREAS OF INTEREST: Development research, especially in the field of rural development with the help of knowledge and information-driven initiatives, assisted by information communication technologies; planning, designing, distribution and promotion of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.

EDUCATION: Achieved Honors and Masters degrees from the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka in 1994 and 1995 respectively.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Has been teaching in the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, since July 2000, first as a part time faculty member (until June 2003) and then a full time faculty member since December 2003 to date. Has been working as Executive Editor of Monthly C-News, an information technology magazine, since December 2002. Also work as a part time teacher in the Diploma Course at the Institution of Library and Information Science, offer course on Automation of Information Institutions.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS: Member, Dhaka University Teachers¡¯ Association and Centre for Development Research (CDR), Fellow, ARENA Council of Fellows, General Secretary, Executive Committee, Community Development Library (CDL), member, Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB).

COMPUTER LITERACY: Have proficiency in major word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, image processing and presentation software packages.

LANGUAGES: Bengali and English

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Born in Feni, a southern district in Bangladesh in January 1974. Married. Have special interest in current affairs and literature.
