Kaoru¡¯s area of interest range from gender and sexuality, sex work, commercialization of intimacy, international migration, social marginalisation, citizenship, intimate sphere, social theory, research methodology, and quite apart from her academic experience, the peace movent. In April 2003, she concluded a year¡¯s fieldwork on Thai female sex workers¡¯ experience with Japanese customers in Japan and their re-integration process in Chiangrai Thailand. Among Kaosru¡¯s more recent
