BUDIANTA Melani

Melani Budianta is teaching at the Department of English, American Studies and Literary Studies Program, at the University of Indonesia. She got her M.A in American Studies from the University of California, and her Ph.D. in English from Cornell University in 1992. She has presented papers at international conferences in a number of countries, including Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, the Netherland, Japan and China, on postcolonial studies, comparative literature, gender and cultural studies. She is working with women groups in Indonesia since the political upheaval in s in 1998.
