Associate Professor the Department
of Political Science, and Director, Third World Studies Center. Tesa specialises
in the study of social movements and the democratization process.
Tesa started teaching in the Department of Political Science of the University
of the Philippines in 1987 and obtained her PhD from the Department of
Politics and Public Administration in the University of Hong Kong, Hong
Kong. She is currently Director of the Third World Studies Center since
2004.
She was recipient of various research grants and has conducted research
on democratisation and development, trends and concerns on the teaching
of political science, Philippine politics and governance, local and transnational
social movements.
