THABCHUMPON Naruemon

Deputy Director of the Center for Social and Development Studies, Faculty of Political Science in Chulalongkorn University,
Naruemon focuses on the areas of democracy and grassroots politics including political analysis of human rights and marginalized movements.

Naruemon is currently a member of the Thai Action Committee for Democracy in Burma and Deputy Chairperson of the Campaign for Popular Democracy.
She is also an academic advisor of the Assembly of the Poor.

Naruemon obtained her MA in Democratic Studies at the Department of Politics from the University of Leeds,
United Kingdom and holds a Certificate on Legislative Training Program from the Asia Foundation in Washington DC, USA.
She is currently a PhD Candidate in Politics in the University of Leeds. Her PhD thesis entitled ‘Articulating Popular Democracy: Thailand's Forum of the Poor.

Naruemon was a member of the ARENA Executive Board 2000-2003.
