- Pipob Udomithipong is an activist on a range of issues. His formative years were spent with spiritual-based organizations working to promote the roles of spiritual teachings and practitioners on social and environmental action including the Thai Inter-Religious Commission for Development and International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB). He was also involved with the No Nuke Asia Forum (NNAF) since its inception and hosted its fourth annual meeting in Thailand in 1997. He was highly active during the campaign against the Thai-Burmese gas pipeline from 1997-2000 and since then has been part of the Oilwatch which campaigns against petroleum development worldwide. At present, he is co-founder and a board member of the Environmental Litigation for the Wants (EnLAW) which aims to use litigation as a means to address human rights violation and environmental destruction and an advisor to the Salween Watch (http://www.salweenwatch.org), a coalition of more than 50 civil society organizations and ethnic organizations from Thailand and Burma which campaigns against the construction of a series of hydropower dams in the Salween River in Burma and Thailand. He has also been working as an interpreter/translator for various civil society organizations for more than a decade including the Prachatai news network (http://www.prachatai.com/english)
